My mother gave me a great idea for Lent this year: clean out and declutter the house! I’ve been dancing around this idea for a while, and now is a great time to make it happen. Currently my stash looks like this:
By Easter, I hope to have it reorganized and ready for action. Along with the rest of my house.

The Knitting Week in Steamboat
Sit ‘n Stitch – Friday, 4-6pm – Sew Steamboat: Mariana and Gayle create a fabulous atmosphere for conversing, learning and needlework of all sorts, so come on down and join us!

SOCKS! Sweet Tomato Heels – Saturday 3-5pm – Sew Steamboat: Knit toe-up socks successfully with the simple Sweet Tomato Heel! We’ll learn the Turkish cast-on, the Sweet Tomato Heel and Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off while using circular needles. Materials: Sock yarn, size 1, 2 or 3 circular needles at least 29″ long, and either a single pattern or the complete Sweet Tomato Heel book by Cat Bordhi (available at Ravelry.com or catbordhi.com). Knitting at the College – Monday, 1-3pm – Bristol Hall 2nd Floor Lounge at CMC: Join these fun folks to knit and laugh and have a good ol’ time. I swear, I’m going to make it someday….

First Time Socks – Tuesday, 5-8pm – Sew Steamboat: This class will teach you the basics of knitting socks including knitting in the round, short rows, picking up stitches to form the heel gusset and the Kitchener stitch to finish the toe. This week, the Sweet Tomato Heels Sock class starts, and if you are looking for a new technique to learn this year, toe-up socks are a great one! These smooth round heels knit up quickly and wearing them puts a spring in your step, just in time for spring!

Everyone I know has a HUGE skein of Red Heart orange yarn. Love it! And isn’t it interesting how it always migrates to the top of any stack?
